In January 1764, the news spread like wildfire through the city of Salzburg: the Mozarts' landlords received a letter that informed them of the family’s arrival in Paris and that they had already been warmly received at the court of King Louis XV. No wonder this news found joyful resonance in Salzburg: everybody in Salzburg was proud of their “Wolferl”.
The musical program “Mozart at Madame Pompadour” is presented by cellist Götz Teutsch and pianist Cordelia Höfer in a trio with violin. It is accompanied by recitatives that tell of the Mozart family’s journey to Paris, about the reception of Wolfgang at the French court, the insanely funny ceremonials, the behavior of little Mozart and his sister. The whole program is musically accompanied by the selection of Mozart music (KV 1-14) and wonderful texts about this miracle Mozart.
