Noblesse Oblige live in Bucharest!Date: 18 September 2006
The London underground scene is one of the most dynamic scenes in the world, being the birth place of many bands that will rock the world stages in the very near future. Emag!c is bringing now to Romania for the first time two of these bands for an exclusive and incendiary show!
NOBLESSE OBLIGE
London based duo NOBLESSE OBLIGE, formed in early 2004 by Sebastian and Valerie, released in 2005, on Horseglue Records, two critically acclaimed singles 'Bitch / Daddy (Don't Touch Me There)' and 'Quel Genre De Garçon' / 'Lil' Dirty' (also containing a brilliant take on Minty's 'Useless Man' featuring vocal samples from the late Leigh Bowery). Their forthcoming debut album Privilege Entails Responsibility (released July 17th 2006) comprises an eclectic mix of disco punk, sixties' French chanson, military beats, transgressive folklore and raw acoustic ballads with lyrical wit, controversial lyrics, humour and bad taste. Taking turns in playing bass, acoustic guitar, samplers, keyboard and drums, NOBLESSE OBLIGE blend edgy electronics with a raw 'live' sound that captures the sleazy tension within the duo's crass yet sensual performance.
TETINE
Formed in 1995 in Sao Paulo, Brazil by artists Eliete Mejorado and Bruno Verner & infused with a contemporary Brazilian radicalism that pushes the boundaries of a hybrid vocabulary, TETINE have created a multitude of music & performance works from the spoken word to electronica, including ritualistic performances, films and video. In January 2000, TETINE established themselves in the UK, as resident artists at Queen Mary University in London. Later in 2001, TETINE released their 4th album entitled "Tetine vs Sophie Calle - Samba de Monalisa" - an acclaimed collaborative electronica project with the French artist Sophie Calle, an album that was very well received in Europe. In 2005 TETINE toured around Europe, Brazil and made their USA debut at M3 Summit - part of Miami Music Conference.
